Joshua Farrer
Joshua Farrer is a 24-year-old filmmaker from South Africa. Being both a visionary and an entrepreneur, he has a zeal for watching his ideas come alive. Joshua already has over 16 years of video-making experience under his belt, having filmed his first video at the age of 8. Over the years since then, Joshua has catapulted himself into the realm of filmmakers, connecting with many content creators across the globe.
Joshua has a great love for people, and eagerly sparks new connections wherever he goes. Through his videos, he sets out to tell stories that have a lasting impact on anyone who encounters them. Traveling around the world in search of inspiration, he has an eye for detail and colour, an ear for music, and an ability to find beauty in the seemingly insignificant.
Beyond the lens, Joshua is the founder and CEO of zylen, a home for filmmakers. Built by a filmmaker for filmmakers, zylen is where filmmakers find work, hire the right people for their productions, and handle every payment securely inside the app. Under the zylen banner, Joshua also leads a growing monthly movement that brings filmmakers together in person to connect, collaborate, and sharpen their craft.
With the merging of both his creative and entrepreneurial skills, Joshua seeks to help others from all places realize their potential in bringing their own creative dreams to life.

I’m Stiaan van Huyssteen, 24 years old, and I serve as Creative Director and Project Manager at Farrer Films. I wear many hats, and I wouldn't have it any other way. From the very first conversation with a client to the final cut, I'm involved in every stage of the process: planning timelines, translating client visions into workable creative briefs, directing on set, and writing the stories that eventually make it to screen. I believe great films are built on strong relationships and even stronger planning, so I bring as much care to the admin and logistics behind the scenes as I do to the creative decisions in front of the camera. Whether I'm scripting a narrative, coordinating a shoot day, or simply making sure a client feels heard and understood, my goal is always the same - to tell stories that are authentic, well-crafted, and worth remembering.
